Brand and History

Yamaha founder “Torakusu Yamaha”
Yamaha’s history began when its founder, Torakusu Yamaha, repaired a broken reed organ in 1887. Shortly thereafter, he successfully completed the first reed organ.

More than 130 years after our founding in 1887, we defined the Yamaha Philosophy as the philosophical framework that underpins business management at the Yamaha Group.
Furthermore, in 2019, we established our new brand promise “Make Waves” to capture that special moment when our customers’ hearts tremble.

A heart-trembling moment lives in sound and music, through playing or simply listening.

We at Yamaha want to inspire peoples’ passion and help them make a step forward to express their individuality, emotion and creativity.

The “Make Waves” concept focuses on our passions and what matters most to people, namely, expressing themselves and making an impact, to progress personally as a listener and player, and to come together with others.

Yamaha is committed to empower people to “Make Waves” with their sound and music.

It is our aim to provide our services to you in a timely, pleasant manner.  When it comes to providing outstanding customer service, we know that we need to go above and beyond the norm. When you tell us what you want, we will do everything we can to get it for you.

Yamaha makes AVRs in three different countries: Malaysia, China, and Japan. The facility in Northern China, which has been in operation for about three years, is mainly responsible for producing AVRs at cheaper price points because of lower labour expenses.

Most modern AV receivers does have an auto off function. But it is always recommended to turn any unused equipment off when not in use.

The optimal location for a wireless subwoofer is on the same wall as the sound bar and within 10 feet of the sound bar. It may, however, establish a connection within the same room up to a distance of 30 feet. Putting a subwoofer in a cabinet or a shelf isn’t recommended.

If you put a subwoofer in the corner of a room, it may produce more sound, making the sub sound louder. Try putting your subwoofer in a corner and listening to how it sounds. But depending on how much space you have on your floor, a corner might not be a good place for your subwoofer if it’s too far from where you listen.
